Hello & Welcome!

I am so glad you are here.

Let's start with the formalities so I can get them out of of the way and we can dive into the good stuff!

My name is Chrissy. I am a registered nurse, and more importantly I am a counsellor and therapist. I have always been big hearted and a space holder. I have maintained all of my certifications and practice as a counsellor virtually with Embrace. Engage. Embody. I do not take my work lightly, in fact I view it as sacred and am so privileged to connect with my clients.

There! Done and done! Now on to the good stuff!

I will say it again.

I am so glad that you are here. This is where I create and share all of the juicy stuff in life. This is where I share things from my education and training, my career experiences and yes! I will even share little tidbits from my personal life - because like most of us know, life teaches us a whole hell of a lot!

It sounds a little cheesy, and hey? Maybe it is. But I am not here to judge, I will say it!

Sharing is caring. But really, it is. When we share we create CONNECTION. We create understanding. And we can dissolve those pesky judgments or sneaky self-critical thoughts that it is only ourself that is 'flawed'. When we can share and connect, we melt away some of our perceived or conditioned boundaries.

Sharing is powerful. So I am here, to share with you any and all of the cool things I have stumbled upon in my life so far. (And it doesn't hurt that I am also SUPER PASSIONATE about personal growth, meaning making, spirituality, self-compassion and overall mental health and well-being!)

Let me start with this one really BIG share! It is a good one! (And it is part of the foundation of work that I do with my 1:1 clients).

I love, like really LOVE information. A lot. And information from books. (Any fellow bibliophiles out there?!) But do you know what I love even more? I love the RELATIONSHIP that we can have with information. And I totally love how our relationship with information can go through a completely predictable TRANSFORMATION the more we engage with it.

Information is like a seed. And don't laugh at the simplicity of this example - ok laugh, most of us don't get enough laughter in life anyway!

Back to it. Information is a seed. We all come across multiple 'seeds' each and every day. Some we toss aside, some we plant. (Or maybe life plants it on our behalf...?!) The planting of the seed is the beginning of our relationship with information.

All seeds need certain things in order to grow. Information needs to be engaged with, taken in, nurtured and even experienced. These are the things that take the seed of INFORMATION and help it grow into KNOWLEDGE.

You ever hear the phrase 'knowledge is power?". Me too. Do I know where it comes from? Nope! But I DO know that it is true. Once we have engaged enough with certain information, we become knowledgeable about that topic. Knowledge is like that tiny little plant that emerged from the ground - all fresh and full of zest and hope in life! Knowledge gives us that boost to go out into life and just try. (And I mean? Why wouldn't we? We just sprouted out of a hard shell, up through dark and dirt to arise and meet then sun!)

What happens?! Well, as most of you know - life happens! Shit happens. In so many ways. Life doesn't disappoint in both joy and fun, and well, in disappointments! (Pun totally intended!)

This is where I come in! (da-dada-da!). My work as a counsellor can happen in any point of this transformation, but often times I am privileged to enter into peoples lives around this pivotal moment. The PAIN point. Knowledge no longer feels powerful. Something has changed. The same tools just aren't working.

Knowledge is power, yes. And it will take us far. The next step? Turning knowledge into INSIGHT. And this is the magic of counselling. Or at least this is the magic I see in counselling.

You would not believe, the amount of people I get to work with, who truly and deeply KNOW many things. They just need a little support and guidance to change their knowing into personal and life INSIGHTS. These are the light bulb moments we all have. And there is ZERO shame in connecting to another human being who passionately studies 'light bulb worthy' material as not only their career but their passion.

Insight is beautiful. And it is stunning to see happen in the eyes of someone when it happens. I actually feel it - there is an energetic switch and lightening that happens. It is that sigh of relief.

I said there was juicy stuff in here, and there is I promise! You want to know the last little bit of why I do what I do?

When we are courageous enough to take in information, nurture it into knowledge and surrender to the transformation of insights - we gain wisdom. If this isn't the slow dripping honey of lived experience, I don't know what is!

You know what wisdom is?

Wisdom is the planting of trees, knowing you will never in your lifetime, sit under them and appreciate their shade.

And if I could share my own personal value of wisdom, it is not only the tree to which I will never sit under - it is LOVE.

Love for the journey. Love for the growth. And love for those that will benefit years to come.

That is it folks! I went from a simple example into something so much deeper, more rich and potent. ( I do this a lot, stick around if this works well for you!)

This is what I do. It is my passion and skill and talent. And if you asked me really personally - this is my soul path and calling.

Life is NOT always easy, I would be the first to say this. I have some pretty good stories that I am sure will all come out in their due time.

RECAP!

We all come across information. In fact, we are in "the information age". We are inundated with it. What we are lacking, if you were to ask me - is the right relationship with this information, and the tools and capacity to nurture it into knowledge, the courage to seek the insights and the surrender to transform it into wisdom for ages to come.

What do I do? Think of me as an information CURATOR. A knowledge TESTER. And an insight MAGICIAN. And a wisdom LOVER; because I believe this type of wisdom transcends time and will be my legacy.
